COACHING
Coaches can only tell, encourage and provide feedback. You
the player
has to put the knowledge into action. You must learn, practise and take
ownership of the skill for yourself. Without your determination and passion
to improve the Coach is wasting his time.
You need to listen to your coach, watch the skill being demonstrated,
watch experts, reason out the effect on the opposition, try it, read about it
and think about it. Using all different techniques to make a skill a reflex
action will speed up the development to the standard that can be used in a match.
